The Fuji FP-100C/Polaroid images are from an ongoing series of photographs. Taken using a handheld instant camera without a tripod or light meter and making use of only the available natural light, they are always taken in pairs and presented as diptychs in two separate frames.
The left-hand image is the first of the two; it guides the composition of the second image, which is taken some minutes later, a period determined by the length of time the first image takes to develop. The second image is an attempt to replicate what was captured at the exact point of exposure in the first. Sometimes profound, sometimes subtle, inevitable differences between the two are always evident. It is these differences that are the essence of the works.
