The essay Flying Through Space Forever, written by Goshka Macuga notes that Finn-Kelcey was an artist committed to probing explorations of private and public spheres, often with a mind on the politics of daily living; she could extrapolate from a family photo the history of how clothing has defined - and limited - women's freedoms, and she could provoke ordinary Britons with a carefully deployed slogan.
The cover of the first 2024 issue of Frieze magazine is Rose Finn-Kelcey's Here Is a Gale Warning (1971 / 2011), currently flying from Tate Britain's mast in London, part of group exhibition Women in Revolt! until 7 April 2024.
