Dawn Ng, The 11th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art, Brisbane, Australia

Dawn Ng's The Earth is an Hourglass (2024), curated by Reuben Keehan, is a multichannel video installation capturing the melting of 60-kilogram frozen pigment-infused blocks. The immersive installation comprises time-lapsed videos compressing the 20-hour process of decomposition into a 40 minute film. The work reflects on the transience of time and the environmental forces at play.
